A picture says…how you feel about yourself.
Photos are a big deal. They are an incredibly important tool for connection, and if you’re promoting yourself in any way—from a blog to a company brochure—a shot of the best you is imperative. On a more personal note, there is precious value in keepsake photos. They honour life, celebrate our beauty, and allow us to see ourselves in a new light. A picture stops time so we can treasure it more.
Saying you look horrible in photos is a self-fulfilling prophecy. Declare no more. Great photos, here you come!
IDEA: Imagine the camera is the face of a loved one. Smile. Always smile.
Feel Beautiful
This is a great exercise in creating an outer package that supports the true you. Whether you’re smiling wide or giving your most penetrating gaze, your genuine moments speak volumes.

I have always found it very difficult to have my picture taken. I was really shy when I was little as was my mom. She found it vain to smile for the camera and so I usually hid from it. I am not unattractive, but the early pictures of me are! I finally realized I was I was never again going to be as young and glowing as I am today, so I better capture it while I can. My best friend got me to start saying “I’m having the time of my life!” and meaning it before a photo is snapped. It’s hard not to smile when you just said that out loud!
Hi Anne, isn’t is wonderful to look at your life through photos and feel joyful & accepting. Your friend is right on.
ps – love your blog photo, beautiful!
