Tips | Your Daily To Do List

July 15th, 2009

Thoughts6ToDoListHow to create your To Do List with Style Statement as a guide.

  1. Divide a page in half. Write the first word of your Style Statement (80% – foundation word) at the top of the left half and your second word (20% –creative twist) at the top of the right half of the page.
  2. List your To Do items under one word or the other, remembering that your first word is about your roots you and your second word is about your wings.
  3. First Word: What can you do today that will help you to feel grounded, that’s reflective of the definition of your first word?
  4. Second Word: What can you do and how can you be, though perhaps scary, to move you forward? Review your definition. Note that since we usually repress our second word, go ahead and challenge yourself to do something expressive today: wear bold red lipstick or call the cute guy for a coffee date or treat yourself to a yoga class.

Focusing on the right things to do for you creates the biggest, best results!

  1. Thank you for posting this! I’ve been feeling a little disconnected to my Style Statement lately and was trying to think of ways to get back into it – this is perfect!

  2. What a fabulous idea! I’m implementing it today!

    You’re welcome Jess!

  4. It truly is amazing how your intentions and “to do list” can fall naturally to either of your Style Statement words. I definitely feel that as “Cultivated Treasure” that I am happiest when creating, giving and promoting others, but also taking the time to be present with the people and places I love…. and sometimes doing so by myself. Changes I’ve recently made in my work life have opened up space and opportunity for both the “cultivated” and the “treasure” aspects of my world….. and there is much to treasure!

  5. I’m thinking of kicking it up a notch and hiring one of those supremely talented Etsy artists to create a To Do List stationary set that visually reflects your Style Statement and allows you to list your daily Style Statement fulfilment tasks. I bet it would visually inspire me to tackle the items on the to do list and perhaps make a lovely journal type keepsake of my Style Statement progress if boxed or bound in some meaningful way.
